eMoodie

eMoodie is an app created as a research tool for the express purpose of studying mental health symptoms, emotions, and health factors such as sleep in older children, teenagers, and young adults. The app incorporates icons and pictures to help better communicate the meaning of questions and answers to younger research participants. It was recently released to both the App Store and Google Play, and it is currently being used in two experience sampling studies. One is examining the relationship between digital technology use, media multitasking, sleep difficulties, and mental health problems in young adults, and the other is investigating the impact of digital technologies on the development of empathy in preadolescent children.
